The ME Association recently received an email from the One Click Group asking for a contribution towards the costs of bringing a legal action for judicial review of the NICE Guideline on CFS/ME. The Association has been asked by members for its view on whether such a contribution should be made.

Objective: Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) by definition represents a diagnosis of exclusion. Late stage or "Chronic Lyme" infection with or without "co-infections" is a difficult diagnosis to establish. The symptom complex of both conditions can be very similar. This case study represents an attempt to support serious consideration for a subpopulation of patients otherwise diagnosed with "CFS," as actually representing chronic Lyme disease.

Referencing a study published last year in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine (Vol. 12: No. 9, 2006), Dr. Weil says that "patients who took five grams of ribose three times a day for an average of 28 days reported less muscle soreness and stiffness, better ability to overcome fatigue, and simply feeling better."
