MAY BE REPOSTED
ME Association trustees are currently studying the September draft and will be issuing a statement shortly after Dr Charles Shepherd, MEA Medical Adviser, has attended a meeting at NICE on Thursday this week that has been called to discuss the ME/CFS guideline.
Among the questions that Dr Shepherd intends to raise is why NICE is unwilling to agree to our written request to disclose the composition of the independent guideline review panel that is also involved in the preparation of the ME/CFS guideline.
As one of the stakeholders in the development of this guideline, The MEA has a duty to consult with our members and incorporate their views into the detailed response that we shall be sending to NICE.
We are therefore asking as many MEA members as possible to read through this draft. We suggest you print off the shortened 48 page version that is available by clicking on this link
The "NICE" 48-page draft
and let us have your comments.
We intend to place the first draft of our detailed response in the public domain sometime within the next two weeks. This will then allow plenty of time to incorporate the views of our membership.
